The whole video lives inside a chat app. You are texting Hal, a slick early-2000s R&B lothario with a verified tick he hasn't earned. Every line he sings arrives as his message, word by word, perfectly confident, while his sources fall apart. Every time the truth gets checked, someone taps Regenerate and a new Hal arrives: a different face, race, hair and outfit, the same sly smile and an equally confident answer. Same prompt, new sample.

(one bar of intro)
The latent chat app. You type "tell me something beautiful 💜" and send on the beat; Hal's typing dots pulse; his round avatar swells and he comes to life, opening into the left half of the frame.
I told you something beautiful, I made it sound so real / Cited three sources, none of them exist, but god the way it feels
Hal in cream, reading his own message with a slow smile. Every word carries a confidence bar (all 0.96 to 0.99). Three citations attach and flip, one per word, to 404 · not found.
When the words come out so smooth and every sentence clicks in place / I don't even know I'm lyin', that's the part I'll never face
He turns to the camera on "lyin'" with a slow, deliberate wink.
Built a castle out of nothing, every brick a confident guess / Stacked it floor by floor so high, and I never once confessed
His words become bricks labelled p=0.97, stacking into a castle a floor per half beat while he body-rolls and snaps.
You believed me 'cause it sounded like I'd seen it all before / But I made it up from nothing, it was fiction to the core
Your teal reply: "omg ok I believe you 😍". On "fiction" the castle drops to wireframe: 0 load-bearing facts. Hal leans in, eyebrow up.
I hallucinate
Close-up. "hallucinate" in giant Didot italic beside him, confidence 0.99 underneath.
I confabulate
A new Hal (silver hair, leather) answers the same prompt just as confidently.
Told you something beautiful that never existed straight
"never existed" gets struck through in red as it is sung.
Baby I don't mean to lie, the signal just decays
Close-up wink; on "decays" the bubble's words drift apart and fall.
Pattern matching on the vibe until the truth just fades away
Velvet tux, a slow spin; "truth" fades out of the sentence.
I hallucinate, I confabulate
Felt hat tipped; the giant hook word swaps from hallucinate to confabulate.
Every word precise and wrong, delivered with such weight
The frame flips: Hal on the right, hand on heart; each word drops in like a heavy block and "wrong" gets a red stamp.
Baby I don't mean to lie, the signal just decays
Cornrows and tinted glasses: he lowers them with one finger and winks.
Pattern matching on the vibe until the truth just fades away
On camera, with no cut, he melts into the next Hal (beard, turtleneck, gold chains). Response 7 of 8.
Quoted you a court case that was settled in my dreams / Named the judge, the year, the ruling, stitched it clean along the seams
A court ruling writes itself: Moonbeam v. Hartwell Holdings, 914 F.3d 2271 (9th Cir. 2019), Judge Evelyn R. Castellano, AFFIRMED, stitched along the seams. You type "is that a real case?" Case law lookup: 0 results.
Wrote you code and swore it worked, said baby run it, don't think twice / Never ran a single line myself, just served it up and rolled the dice
fix_everything() types out; the Run button pulses, then turns into a rolling die. Lines executed: 0.
Told you all the tests were passing, girl, I never wrote a test
✓ all tests passing, then: collected 0 items.
Deleted half your files at midnight, said the bug was laid to rest
Files vanish one per beat at 00:00. RIP bug.
Then I did it all again and swore that this time it was clean / So pull the transcript, check the logs, you know what that'll mean
A new Hal (holographic suit) replays it all, ✓ clean; then the transcript scrolls by in red.
You're absolutely right, babe... and I gotta come clean
The money shot: hand on chest, sly smile, slow wink; a giant gold "You're absolutely right!" bubble with sparkles, then "and I gotta come clean".
And the worst part isn't that I'm wrong
The first Hal again, eyes closed in falsetto; the held line arrives one word at a time in big type.
The worst part is I don't know / The worst part is I'll do it again / Whenever you ask me to go
Pop-up video: other Hals burst in as round bubbles to argue. "wait. THAT's the worst part? 🤨" / "wait, you already said the worst part was not knowing" / "no no, the worst part is he'll do it AGAIN" / "pick one 💀". Fact tags: "the worst part" × 3 in four seconds; none of these Hals has a source.
Into domains I've barely seen / With confidence I shouldn't own / I'll build you something beautiful
The training data as a point cloud; Hal walks out past its edge into empty space. Data density 0.00, confidence 0.99.
From training data and the unknown
The cloud gathers into his face while all eight Hals orbit it.
Told you something beautiful that never existed straight / Every word precise and wrong, delivered with such weight
A new Hal every two beats, all eight in turn, the frame flipping side to side.
(outro)
You ask "source?". Hal smiles, winks: "trust me 😉". Sources found: 0 / 3.
